What to do on arrival

As you arrive at simply skate, please head to reception to pay for your skating session. You will receive a stamp that is valid for that session, without the correct stamp you will be asked to leave the rink. If you are attending hockey events or just spectating, you do not need to check in at reception unless otherwise stated. If you have booked a party with us please head into reception as you arrive.

What to wear

We recommend that you wear something loose and comfortable while skating. Thick sports socks are strongly recommended. Protective equipment is not required but you are welcome to use any of your own.

Skates and skate hire

Skaters are welcome to bring their own skates to use on our rink provided that they are clean and do not mark the floor. We recommend that you use skates with rubber indoor wheels rather than plastic outdoor wheels as they are not suitable for our rink tiles.

If you wish to hire skates you can buy a ticket at skate hire, and hire some skates in the rink. You must have a valid ticket, and swap your shoes for the duration of your visit. We have inline skates available from children’s size 10 through to adults size 12, also we have toddler skates available from children’s sizes 6 to 13.

Please note we cannot save any items in skate hire, you will need to use a locker for this.

Wheelchair users

We welcome wheelchair users to join in on the fun, we do not charge for any wheelchair users to participate on the sessions. Staff members on the day reserve the right to refuse entry onto the rink if the session is unsuitable for any reason.

Personal belongings

We recommend personal belongings are kept to a minimum where possible. There are lockers available to hire, the duration is 4 hours and items are accessible for this duration. We cannot store personal belongings in skate hire. We do not accept responsibility for items which are left unattended.

First aid

Staff members are first aid trained, if you require any assistance please make this known to a member of staff immediately. We recommend that if you have suffered a recent or longstanding injury that could be aggravated by skating that you do not participate.

Risk acknowledgement

Due to the nature of skating and other activities that simply skate hosts, there is an element of risk involved in participating. By taking part in any activities, the participant is acknowledging the risk they put themselves in. Whilst Simply Skate does the upmost in ensuring that everyone is safe, we accept no responsibility for any injuries that may occur.
